Load Width Query

Hi,

Just looking for some clarification we have been asked to price for a job where we will have a load that over hangs the lorry width wise (6 wheel rigid) approx 150mm either side. We will be under 2.9m wide overall so i assume having done some research we would not need to let the police know? Would side markers need to be added to the load (something i’d look at doing in any case, although it may not be practical to attach to attache them though) / and would we need to inform police of the load as the overhang would be under 305mm either side? As a company our loads are normally all palletised and within the bed of the lorry so this is new territory to us and we are looking at whats required to stay within the law to transport this one.

Thanks,

Only when it exceeds 305mm to either side will you need to inform the police (2 days notice required)

As you are under 3.05 wide you won’t need markers either.

Crack on.
