I understand Astran are the only UK company that can get Saudi transit permits at the mo’, don’t know how true it is.
We had a Dubai company contact us (at work) about buying 6 or more LHD trucks & trailers, they said could supply loads to Dubai but not provide help with any transit doc’s or permits.?
Ross.
He also wants to use a brittish company.

Yea but only if you get him to sign a contract that says he has to do a diary of the trip.
in two months I would stick it in a container
Yeah, I would 2nd that, a container would be safe, dry and secure, and probably only be around £1600 door to door…
Lrm
just spoke to my boss.
he’s up for it. just one little problem.
i’ve heard that you can’t use right hand drive trucks in saudi.
i could be wrong though.

That can’t be right or Richmon’s 143 wouldn’t be doing it.
Ross.
Job sorted ,its in the hands of the best (Astran) 2.5 times the rate we used to it for in 1984 and 14 to 16 days from the Uk ,so thats quicker that 84 (unless Andrew Wilson Young rip, did it)
Klunk, just a bit curious as to why they want it to go overland instead of being shipped in a container? Surely it would be a lot cheaper and transit times wouldn’t much different.

There’s no way a container could be loaded in the UK and delivered in Dubai within a month, I’d bet 6 to 8 weeks would be a minimum realistic time scale.

Blimey I thought it would be a month maximum, that container load of fish I sent last week going to be right minging when it gets there.
