Load restraint advice

Possibly one for the Drivers forum, but I’ll start off here.

Last week, I loaded 7 pallets of aerosols - each pallet was loaded with cardboard trays (shop display type), with plastic aerosols containing whatever, then all plastic wrapped. As the canisters would easily crush, I didn’t tighten the straps fully, just enough so if they did go for a wander they’d be held back.

What would the ‘approved’ way of securing these be?

Gary

If you’re worried about crushing the goods with a strap you could try a pallet on top to spread the weight or across the back as well then you could cross strap the load. Or a piece of timber along the top edges where the straps will go over could be enough. Good driving helps too!
