Llandudno Transport Festival

Hiya…its the festival this week end…its not just vehicles…their are people walking around in victorian clothes,
some ladies pushing old type prams, men in top hats pushing penny farthing cycles. their’s a fair in the main street.
you can also ride on old type buses from the town to the showground thats a must.
llandudno have a road run where the vehicles parade round the streets (that lasts for about 1 hour alone).
last year they run a steam train from birmingham, that brings in hundreds of people…I’ll be their.

OK, I’ve found it-
Saturday evening, run to Conwy.
Sunday evening, around Marine Drive, stopping at café en route.
All subject to traffic conditions, taking into account that it’s a Bank Holiday weekend.

How many of the vehicles are still there on the Monday ?

hiya dave. most of the trucks stay untill 4pm, infact i dont think you can leave untill then
some go early tuesday to keep the techo happy, i think they have a roadrun monday about 3pm,
thats when some trucks sneak off, they don’t return to the field.bank holiday monday is llandudno day.
don’t try going Chester bound on the A55 monday afternoon especially if mr booth is at the show
with his heavy haulage trucks, he races of home to Southport at 25mph with his scammells
and a huge box on a multi wheel trailer. the box is 10ft wide and 25 ft long… thats to live in
at the show.
John

Hi John,
I will see what my good lady says.We may get there Monday.I will come up the A5 to Betws Y Coed and then up the Conwy valley,so Mr Booth and his motors won’t hold us up,but there will probably be some going back the same way as us.
Cheers Dave.

Is it the old fair down there this weekend too?

If anyone goes, get giddy with the camera and get some pictures
Wouldnt have minded going myself but heading down south house hunting.

Weather permitting, I shall be snapping away most of Saturday.
If wet, I’ll be staying indoors, moaning, whinging & whining.

Hiya…yes i’am taking my truck, been a bit of a rush this year so she may not shine as she should.
the fair is in the town centre…you can ride on a old time bus from the town to the show ground.
i’ll have my grey sweatshirt on with my AEC printed on it.
cheer’s John

Well if you’re getting all “catwalk” about it, I shall be wearing my grey t-shirt.
It used to be white.

Taken at Llandudno today. Apologies for the quality- some were taken in drizzle & others into the sun.
Just excuses really.
And you’ll have to be patient 'cos I haven’t yet worked out how to make multiple attachments.

Good pics Casey, looks as if there is a lot of wagons there.Don’t know if we will get there Monday or not.Its Shrewsbury nest weekend which is handy.Don’t think my good lady will fancy three weekends in a row. Will have to see.
Cheers Dave.

Thanks, Dave. You’ll have to re-train your chief photographer. Send her on one of my courses & I’ll teach her how to respond to reasonable request
And you’ll notice that I’ve discovered how to make multiple attachments. Technology, here we comes from the Head of the Household!
And for goodness’ sake don’t let her see this post!!!
