Living in the wild, where would you choose?

Watching Ben Fogle the other day with his programme about people who escape the rat race and go and set up a new life somewhere out in the middle of nowhere me and her got chatting about where we would consider and we both agreed on Canada somewhere. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere with poisonous snakes or spiders.

So where would you choose ? My second place would be Outer Mongolia.

Below is the view from my mates front room window. Think I could struggle by with it too…

Croatian islands. Breath taking, on a couple, the only “cars” on the whole islands are golf buggys.

The Maoster, in that photo of your mates view, is that near Alicante ?
You could place it in the “Where am I ?” Forum.
It looks like Spain to me.

About 30 miles north of Benidorm Toby. Javea (xabia). The mountain in the background looks like a sleeping elephant.

With the sun in your eyes and you squint a bit!

Probably either somewhere in Valais in Switzerland or the Vercors in France.

Who needs Mongolia. :open_mouth:

Carryfast:
Who needs Mongolia.

I’ve always fancied it, the programme is about folks who live completely in the middle of nowhere hours from any kind of civilization.

A bit like Norfolk then?

A place full of eastern promise, close to the coast with easy access to civilisation yet with the challenge of a language barrier and integration with charming, exotic people. A fiery menu, cosmopolitan company yet a familiar climate.
Has to be…Ipswich. Jim

If it was abroad, a little cottage in Western Ukraine.

But in the UK, mooring up my little narrowboat miles from anybody else on some quiet canal in complete silence apart from the occasional duck or swan pecking on the side looking for a piece of bread does it for me.

Done it BB from Axbridge to the middle of nowhere , well not quite nowhere but close enough . Have a city 20 mins South but in other directions nothing but wide open prairie , peace and solitude come highly recommended .

Good on you I’m very envious, any poisonous creatures roaming about ?

I thought weeks programme in Alaska was good and what lovely log cabin he built next to the river growing their own veg it looked idyllic.
