Usually by opening the door, climbing in, starting the engine, putting it in gear and pressing on the accelerator.

Start off as a bus driver doing lates in Liverpool at the weekend and take it from there, fully qualified
See I missed my vocation as a livestock driver with all that training I had

I take it that there is no specific requirements needed for livestock then

From what I gather on here and my cousin who is a farmer in Wales, working with and being around livestock would be an advantage, also being used to seeing and dealing with carcases and not being squeamish at finding them and hauling them off your wagon.
I am sure there are some stock well being regulations and rules you have to be clued up on to.
And you cant get attached to your passengers emotionally either :open_mouth:

a nice steady driver is a must for a livestock driver (never wrap a triple deck round bends or roundabouts when ya loaded or it’s over in seconds) , even better if you have a knowledge of livestock not all cows are the same ( some will travel better than others), early mornings, late nights, finding fields too tip sheep into at midnight in the ■■■■■■■ rain by yourself aint fun. washing out at midnight aint that fun either.

See, just like working lates on the buses in any city centre

No, but getting them to stand on the pallet is a nightmare task

I was told by an old driver don’t do livestock or steel.

Yes, there are different requirements for moving livestock.
You need to comply with defra ( England) , or serad scotland’s current legislation for the type of animal/ bird you want to move. It is a good start if you have actually been handling livestock in the past .

Wether moving livestock, or dead stock, there is legislation to comply with on both.
