Liverpool ?

Hi doing a weeks cover on a bulker in January, can you put me on to Merlin?, Brocklebank and G3 stores are on Liverpool docks. I know where Cargill,s is or are they all the same place? Many thanks.

Merlin, through Seaforth Main Gate by the Police Station. Straight on, past the container terminal, great big shed on right before wind turbines is Merlin. Pleasant people, can be very dusty in the shed.
Brocklebank is normally Cargill Oils rapeseed crushing plant, often known as Bioko. Northern end of Regent Road, opposite Blanche’s cafe and old Harland & Wolff building. You don’t see a living person here, and only hear a disembodied voice by tannoy usually if your numbers are wrong.
G3, which is actually Cargill G3, through Seaforth Main Gate again, turn left immediately after Police Station. Over level crossing, next entrance on right is Cargill S2, the one after that on the right, adjacent to the P & O Ferry Terminal, is G3. Not too bad, but obey all of the rules, and don’t overload, same as at all Cargill sites.

Hope this is of use.
Steve

As above really. G3 is now subject to extensive waiting times - so be prepared for a wait. Brocklebank is nearly always a waiting game. A tip iv learned is when queing on the road or getting there at night, walk down to the hut and get your numbers checked - as saves delay later. dont speed on the docks either. They seem to be having a blitz on that at the moment.

Thanks very much. Numbers?? do you mean the load reference numbers??

I recon that’s what he meant, ‘fixing’ number & loading reference etc.

If you do come a cropper with that, there is no PFN notice payable nor points applicable to your licence. Its a straightforward bylaw offence and the max penalty is £50, even though the coppers will tell you otherwise. Just incase anyones interested.

Arthur packed in with the white star, something to do with the rent plus the long hours and down turn in business. last i heard he was opening a little cafe in liverpool, Shame really cos he was a great bloke and the food was always bob on specially the liver n onions

Not just a shock but a real shame with proper ‘home made’ food, it’s probably a few months since I was in there but I had no idea it had shut, so sorry for the duff info!!

Ross.

Holy â– â– â– â–  Batman, thread revival!

You can’t get to Cargills through Seaforth Main Gate now, you have to use Strand Road Gate, then turn right up to the roundabout, third exit.
