Lived on the bus a year today

That’s really bizzare but utterly fantastic!

Good on ya Marlow, I too, as Dave Penn, have followed this from the off.

1 year anniversary eh? So where’s the house party then, oops sorry, I mean bus party
But there again, guess part of the attraction of the nomadic life style was to get away from people.

Just a pity its an upright rear engine or you could have made a “garage” for the bike like they have in the modern motor homes.

Does the wood burner give any residual heat to the bedroom at night in the winter?
You could fit a truck night heater on a timer and stat?

Happy Buthday

Awesome mate, loved the thread of the birth of the bus / home, and this was great.

Shocked by how cheap it is to tax and insure. Shocked by how expensive the ‘test’ was, assume that’s a 1 off rather than the annual cost?

Also shocked that you can get away with the bike mount, never mind with the bike on it, on the front, pedestrian safety etc.

That is awesome, you should post regular and setup a facebook account and twitter.
Wish I had done that after the second divorce

Glad it is working out financially for you as well, immense freedom at your finger tips

Very cool indeed

Brilliant… What’s the bike, an old Yamaha XS ?

Is that a deathshead I see painted on the motorcycles tank?

That is really great, and looking better inside, just had a laugh it is like the bus is on Holiday ! every photo of it at the pub the church on farm lol , just funny, do you think you will eventually get a newer bus and start over again as you must have tripled the value of this one■■?

Excellent Marlow - think I have seen your decker out in Tuxford (I work out at Worksop)

My little baby :astonished:

Well this post has certainly brightened my day up.

When I saw the first pic thru the windscreen of the bike I thought we were in for another “mad biker” post!

Absolutely loved the pics that just happen to have a bus sneaking into the shot. They reminded me of them stories where someone has a gnome knicked from their garden and start to receive pics from it from places like The Taj Mahal, The Pyramids, The Great Barrier Reef etc. very, very cool way of life.

Quality stuff, good luck with it.

What happened at SG haulage in Saxilby??
I almost went there but ended up doing my own thing…
Steve the boss seemed like a nice man…

Steves a cracking bloke, thing was with walkers i have somewhere to park too, as well as someone to feed the cat if im up the road

Fair enough… One of my first memories of a truck was sitting in the Walker Racing Kenworth at their yard in Tuxford as a kid. I’m pretty sure it got totalled at a race meeting somewhere unfortunately… :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
You’d better ask the boss if he’d consider employing Steve Parish or Stig Blomqvist and how desperate would he have to be to take on that nutcase Rainer Kruger??

What has been your total spend on the purchase and build? How many years do you plan to keep it? Any problems with Vosa or pc plod?

Superb! Me and Mrs G have spoken about doing this for a long time.

Have you come up against any nimby ■■■■■ or “Local people” that find “Travellers” offensive?

Interview on Radio 4 today with someone who has taken to living in a bus sounds a great idea.Interviewer said it had more space than his flat.Get on.

have you got any pics of the inside?

I think I will have spent about 8k on it so far but that includes the solar system and inverter to run my mains 240v

I haven’t had a problem with parking at all, but wouldn’t park where the nimby typed live. I found that folk see the advantage of having a presence on site that takes care of the rent.

If all else fails I can always park on an industrial estate for a day or 2 whilst I find somewhere more suitable. Think I’ll stick around at walkers for the month, the works ok and they leave you to it and work with me when I take time off to fetch the cat back when I leave her somewhere.

I bet you have saved a fortune in cash since you done that
