Live in Bristol?

Don’t take your car to work! Coming to your town soon! What ■■■■■■■ planet do these councillors live on?

What’s the betting that councill officials will either be exempt or able to claim it back on exes.

Yes Santa,
these people live in a dream world. But we are the fools, 'cos we keep voting the [zb] into office!

anyway, I think they should introduce a Park and Walk policy to cut down congestion.

Basically everybody should have to park up in a farmers field about 10 miles out of the city centre and join a walking bus, a bit like schoolkids do in some places.

This would have the benefit of keeping cars out of city centres allowing us truck drivers to get in and out easier, keep people fit by walking 20 miles a day and create employment for the walking bus stewards and sell more hi viz jackets. (oh and butty vans along the route).

It doesnt matter that people would need an extra 6 hours a day to get to and from work, they could just work fewer hours thereby increasing the demand for workers and eventually reducing the dole queues.

Win Win Win situation!

(This is the kind of blue sky thinking that the k n o b s who we elect into cushy well paid government positions come up with day after day)

By the way everybody - I am not being serious - its a bit of sarcasm which as we all know is the lowest form of wit.

There’s more than an ounce of common sense in there even if you are being sarky!

Nottingham’s the other lunatic asylum for this idea.

If i owned Boots i’d be quietly talking to another areas’ business depts, and telling Nottingham exactly what they can do with their parking charges, (to fund the trams).

Come down to Northants or Leicestershire Boots (or any big employer in Bristol or Nottingham), our areas representatives will welcome you and the jobs and whole swathes of economy you bring with welcome arms.

The people responsible for these ideas would have been escorted to a place of safety by men in white coats years ago.

(quote)Bristol City Council wants to use the levy to raise millions of pounds to fund bus only lanes, separated from other traffic, to cut congestion.

where exactly? across the roofs, along the pavements or just paint a white line down the middle of the road and make every road one way? :open_mouth:

Well,…next Election you get a chance

Yeah Right you beleive that if you want to.

Doesnt matter who you vote for government always wins.

By that I mean even the the candidate with the best intensions always succumbes to the party line when elected. They are all in it to line their own pockets no matter what their manifesto is.

We as meer mortals without the Oxbridge education and mummy and daddys connections have got next to no chance of making a difference.

That said you can alll vote for me if you like
