OK, it’s a while since we updated those handy little if slightly of the beaten track cafe’s or ever burger vans who offer that bit more than the usual.
Should say, i’m nothing to do with this van nor any other, only as a very satisfied customer every time i visit this small business estate.
I’ll start a new one if i may with Jay’s burger van situated at Standlake Business Park, about 4 miles south of Witney on the A415 Witney to Kingston Bagpuize road…unfortunately there’s a 18t bridge at Newbridge (south of Standlake Park) so those with heavier vehicles will have to go in and out via the A40 Witney.
Cotswold Dene, Buttermilk Lane, Standlake Bus Pk Ox29 7PL telephone 07437851258…he ok’d me putting his number on so anyone likely to visit can confirm for their peace of mind he’s there and can pre order if they wish, he didn;t ask me to put this on, i offered because he provides good food and is pleasant with it.
As well as the usual 7am to 3pm ish daytime fodder which is ■■■■ good, Jay has started a Meditteranean evening menu, he’s a proper chef by the way so even your humble egg’n’bacon baguette is scrumptious not only the size and value but a freshly baked baguette makes it, you’d never manage a second, so i have every faith in his med meals served from 4pm to 7pm starting this week.
Examples, spag bog £5.95 Bacon carbonara with spag £5.50 Rusticana with penne £6.95 Fish (or chicken) stew with spag £6.95 Lasagne with garlic bread £5.95 Canelloni £5.95
It’s a small quiet industrial estate where about half a dozen artics could park without issue, no other facilities but a short stroll to Brighthampton about 1/2 a mile away would no doubt provide a pub if a pint was desired.
OK, such nights out arn’t every drivers ideal but the sort of night out i preferred when i did them, decent grub, somewhere quiet to park and a pub for a quiet pint within walking distance to get away from the poxy tin can for a few hours…
