Tell you what, I bet the first person that ever did that was thinking something like “Watch this, just see how many people jump on this bandwagon now, I’ll just tell this sucker some crap and watch the Chinese whispers bounce!!!”
Did you really fall for it? :stuck_out_tongue:

Used the right hand lane trick a few times on roundabouts like the OP. There was a lad who drove an artic tipper for a well known Manchester haulier who regularly used to turn left onto the A6 from Torkington Lane in Hazel Grove and get in the right hand lane for Macclesfield because the lights changed a couple of seconds before the left hand Buxton bound ones. He would then chop across the traffic and head for Buxton, used to see cars going up the pavement to avoid him!

Myself I always had an A-Z in my hand when cutting through weight limits in towns to make out I was looking for a site address just in case of nosey parkers watching…

Pete.

Ah you’ve popped my balloon thought I’d discovered that . On curtains used to drop trailer and pull forward on nights out to stop the swaying. Think that was featured on one of Luke’s vids. Not really a cheat but little helpful thing. If you have a shear sided load on a curtain sider, when strapping the hooks sometimes won’t stay put due to not being able to be angled. Used little wooden blocks or bits of broken pallet behind the strap immediately above the metal hook/ rachet.

When I worked for stobrats out of Appleton, I used to use holly, Emmy, Louise and Lisa! Now they were little cheats! :sunglasses: two married, two single and very good cheats they were! :grimacing:

You are a sneaky, sneaky man Winseer. But I do like the way you think.

First time I parked there, I didn’t know about the effect of course… I got quizzed on return to base as to “had I sabotaged my isotrack tag” in the vehicle, since I’d totally gone off the radar for an hour. That’s when I found out that overhead power lines interfere with GPS systems full stop.
It was obvious though that with the “off radar” period being an hour, that I’d merely pulled up for a break.

You weren’t supposed to do this with a load on however, so any further use of that same layby would indeed be me wanting to “stay off the radar” for a while, and therein lies any “sneakiness”. :sunglasses:

I’m one of those luddites that was all in favour of things like DashCams but TOTALLY against anything that effectively spied on the driver themselves.
Spies in the cab should be to stop strangers trying it on - not you and yours from having the freedom to take breaks whenever it seems suitable. :bulb:

If you’re going eastbound on the M62 from the M61 at morning rush hour, taking J3 and running down the 666 saves you a good 15-20 mins.

When tossing the job off (only do this once you are tipped or it WILL bite you on the bum) and your vehicle has a tracker fitted, make sure you park within 20 feet of the customers perimeter fence, that way any snooping office bod will think you are still unloading.

Parking in this particular layby, under the pylons used to fog-out the isotrac as well!

I’d rather they knew where i was! a doctor told me once there is concern that there is an increasing incidence of leukemia amongst children who live under or very close to major power lines. If you think there’s nothing to it take a normal flourescent strip light with you next time, stick it in the ground and watch it light up!

I don’t spend many minutes per year under power lines, because I do actually think there is some long term risk to health.
I also don’t believe in having a mobile phone for the same reason - that makes me pretty unique all round, since everyone else finds them so convienient, that they’d risk brain tumours, a fine, and £30 odd quid a month running a device that they always say to me is “I wish I never had got the damned thing!” when they see me walking around like they were never invented… :sunglasses:

“Buying a mobile phone” to me is like “Buy a new car, because it’s dearer than a second hand one”. :grimacing:
Just think… No planners, no bills, no bull. :stuck_out_tongue:

A little block of wood that fits snug in the fuel nozzle trigger - for hands free fueling when the clip has been removed

A 50p piece is made for that job, your block of wood is now redundant.

50p■■? Rich boys  we all use 2p pieces where I work…

And as for toby’s left hand lane to Gordano one then I think you’ll find that the lane markings say you should use the left lane until around the half mile marker anyway

If I had a 50p coin I would only spend it - terrible with money

A large paperclip fits into the seatbelt thingy, so the warning noise doesn’t annoy you.

the rear end of a trailer would annoy me a lot more

And the fine, one saved my life :unamused:

how did a fine save your life
no money left to buy heroin

better still just use the key fob
or keep a few old credit cards stick together in your back pocket
depends on how big the handle/trigger is
dont do what i used to do and use your mobile phone
it can slip out and fall into a puddle
and some might say it could cause an explosion ,lol

I just use the handle of a set of pliers and they have the added benefit of being pliers :grimacing:

If you have an Anderson lead plug socket at the back of your cab by the fuel tank, they’re the right size to keep the trigger on.

It’s the same in my lumbering tub going from M1 south onto M25 - especially appropriate if proceeding anti-clock

A top-tip cheat for earning a trip to Disneyland?

I’ll fetch my coat…
