Five CMR’s each with missing info and a fine of €1500 for each case.
Can you please divulge what info was missing i.e. was it Trl No etc? as it’s rather frightening that a fine that large can be imposed for missing info.
Cheers

Gurner ; nothing intended against you, what you have drawn is 100 per cent correct for a manual record, so is what Kitkat did. There is nothing in the Regs saying how the record should be made, just that you have to make one!! Laws, don’t you just love them??!!
I would echo what Coffee said about not having anything other than centrefield entries written on charts when abroad. The French have a serious problem with it, the Basque Red Caps are pretty intollerant as are our friends in Germany. Would be nice if everybody played by the same rules, but then life wouldn’t be so interesting And we haven’t even got to digital tachos yet, cannot wait, total chaos

In the box for Place, Country and Date of taking over the goods not all the info was there, it was on some of the CMR’s but only had two of the three items on others. In the box for place designated for delivery of goods that should contain place and country it only said Italy, no place, on some of them. The company I pull for make the CMR’s up and they had omitted the details. I usually fill in the blanks but just recently I haven’t always bothered but I will from now on.
I had also forgotten to enter my details in the additional transporters box, I usually stamp them up while waiting to get on the ferry but on this occasion I hadn’t done it.
She said, and I quote; “Please always remember these things because otherwise it is very easy money for us.”
I was very glad that we had been having a laugh up to the point she looked at the CMR’s and that I had invited her into the cab so she could get out of the rain, I think that helped avoid the fine.

Cheers for the info, that bit is something i always check. We had one of our subbies fined €750 in Belgie for not having the Trl number on the CMR and another €500 for not having a signature in the box for company making out CMR ( i think thats what it is bottom right hand corner) about a month ago which is why i always double check.
As the lady says very easy money to be made out of CMR’s that are incorrectly filled in.
If there are any CMR errors or ommisions who’s liable ■■ the driver or company, forwarder, owner driver ■■ I think I can guess though.
Well in my case it would have been me because I should check the paperwork is correct, although I would have argued with the company about the things they had omitted as on this occasion they were the ones who had completed the CMR’s.
I have to agree with Neil about the tachos, some companies make up the rules as they go along, they expect you to draw lines which shouldnt be there, and they issue consecutively numbered charts which are not necessary.
The only time you should have to make a manual entry is if you start work, and you havent been allocated a truck, etc or if the equipment is faulty!
If you do make any marks on a chart, make sure it does not obscure any of the trace on the opposite wax face. Make sure your driver details are all entered within the centre field and not overlapping.
As for CMR, these must be completed fully and with proper addresses.

For anyone who does container work in Europe a CMR must also be made out for the Empty Container after you have tipped
