mines is a s reg first registered nov 1998

that document was first published in 2004 so maybe out of date so will need to do some more diggin

At that age there doesn’t seem to be a requirement:

vosa.gov.uk/vosacorp/newsand … lation.htm

The new speed limiter regulations apply to,

  • passenger vehicles over 8 seats but not over 7500 kg Design Gross Vehicle Weight (DGVW).

  • goods vehicles over 3500 kg but not over 7500 kg DGVW

  • these are applied as follows depending on vehicle age:

  1. Vehicles first used prior to 1 October 2001 - No requirement

  2. Vehicles first used on or after 1 October 2001 up to and including 31 December 2004 - For British domestic use only these will require a speed limiter set such that the vehicle speed cannot exceed,

seems that im in the clear

just wanted to make sure
just in case
i come up against any one who dosent know

yeah just because you do not have to limit it by law you still can only do 60mph on motorways and no outside lane imo.

7.5s without limiters can use the outer lanes of motorways.

There is a proposal in government to make all vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, including all buses & coaches, to have a legal max 56 mph limit (dropped from 60) and to ban them all from the outer lanes of motorways with 3 or more lanes.

This proposal has been on the to-do list for some time but nothing has happened - YET :exclamation:

And do 70 mph.

heres the speed limit table from

dft.gov.uk/pgr/roadsafety/sp … limits.pdf

published in december 2004

and as far as im aware the outer lane of a three or more lane carrigeway restriction is only applicable to vehicles that have there speed resticted by law

A vehicle between 3.5 & 7.5 tonnes is an LGV C1 which is now spllt into 2 types for the above, depending on whether it speed restricted or not - another daft Govt idea.

They would have been better to either limit them all or fit limiters which are not coneected until such time as they all conform to the same rules etc.

its ok having the limiters fitted but they also need to tell the driver they can no longer use the 3 lane of the motorway any more.and when ur in a traffic jam and they are passing u in the 3rd lane and u let them know that they should not be there all u get is ■■■■ off ot the 2 finger sult off them acting as they own the motorway.not even the police force this rule but if we do something wrong we get the book thrown at us
