Like a bloody disco!

Driving the M25 this morning and could see repeated flashed in the distance. At first I thought it was a repeat of last night’s lightning storm, but as I got closer I could see it was coming from next to a gantry. Seems the “smart motorway” had a reduced limit and everyone was ignoring it. In the few minutes it took me to pass they must have flashed a couple of dozen times.
Now I have little sympathy for people speeding, but it seems to me the “smart” part of this system is that it’ll pay for itself!

I think you probably have hit the nail on the head

How come you could see the flashes from the bloody horizon but the clowns getting zapped seem, as usual, to have a total field of vision about 50 feet in front of and slightly to the side of the bonnet.

Probably because he’s on the opposite carriageway driving towards the cameras

+1

bet that was near waltham cross?

Witnessed a similar thing a while back when joining the m6 north from the m5, just as you filter on to the m6 the gantry for s/b was going mental, turns out in my mirrors there was a red x over lane one for the filter to head for the m5. Drivers trying to cut the queue were being flashed for passing a lane closure.

Bloody good show, that’s about time

Good job, leaves the police to do what they’re best at - eating donuts and catching murderers.

Where abouts on the M25, the ones by Rickmansworth are always going off.

Well done HA, cameras actually flash after a red x
