Lightboard install help into scania

hi folks.

I know this has possibly been asked but cant seem to find the help i need.

I am buying a lightboard when i start my new job as the company i am going to work for have some tidy trucks all lit up and looking nice. ( now all the haters please move on as i am after advice not the kind of advice saying throw them in the bin etc )

I have seen the one i am after i am just looking for advice on how to install them into a scania please. The lightboard comes with two hooks things but thinking that aint going to hold it. any advice and genuine advice telling me what you used to hang it and how you did it would be really appreciated.

thanks.

Ask this company who fitted out their trucks with other lights etc. No sensible company will let you fit it unless you’re a qualified mechanic / auto electrician (unless you own said truck).

That way if the electrics go bang, or VOSA pull you and issue a PG9 because they don’t think its safe, you don’t have to explain to the boss why the truck is off the road. Liability can be passed on to someone with liability insurance.

Never done it (not my scene), but also don’t be surprised if they stipulate the lights stay if you move on. Saves them a lot of work getting them removed and holes left in bodywork.

Yep…And especially as he hasn’t even started with the firm yet. :unamused:
So he does a week/fortnight for his new firm, finds he hates it, it ain’t for him.
So not only has he wasted his money on some crap or other…, AND getting it fitted, he finds he has to either leave it in, or get somebody (and pay) to get it taken out properly to leave truck as it was. :unamused:
What you think is obvious common sense thinking, sometimes isn’t.

My advice would be spend his money on something that is actually useful, like a kettle or a microwave…but what do I know.

If it’s an R series the best way is to put a bungee cord inbetween the two brackets for the tip bunk, get it nice and tight and it will be tucked away inbetween the bunk and back wall of the cab. Use the hooks already filled to the light board to hang it at the top. To keep it steady I used a strip of heavy duty Velcro across the bottom.
