Lift axles

Hi,

Can anyone confirm or otherwise the rules regarding lift axles. My understanding is that provided axle weight limits are not exceeded axles can be lifted even when a vehicle is part loaded. However someone else tells me that they must be lowered when the vehicle carries any load however small. Anyone know?

Hello Peter,

Provided that you do not exceed your axle weight limits, you can run while loaded with an axle lifted, and this applied even if you are taxed 3+3.

I will have a look later for the relevant section of the law (unless someone else has it to hand)
