Just wanted to clear something up-those lift-and-steer “middle” axles on many artics you have over there-are they “passive steer” (i.e.: they turn when pushed, and have nothing but a drag link between the wheels), ore are thay “active steer”, being actually connected with the front steering assembly??
There’s some of each out there Alex. Most on tractors are powered, and it’s about 50/50 on trailers.
we have some MAN’s with mid lift but they dont steer…waste of time at 38 tonne
some have their own steering hydraulics & some are connected to the front wheel steering as well
