After a 25 year marriage I thought my dating days were over but to my surprise Fri 13th turned out really lucky for me. I had my first date with a cracking lass I meet on the net. She’s a great laugh and takes everything in her stride. She’s not only a very successful local business woman but she’s also a good looking posh bird.
Just what she sees in me I have no idea, a bald truck driver that lives in a bus, but by all accounts I make her laugh so I’ll just enjoy each day as it comes. - have some local work that I’m trying to keep to 3 days a week to give me time to work on yhe bus but most of all she’s put a right spring in my step
The web is ideal for meeting people if you are doing anti social hours. I don’t drink, or go pubs etc…So after splitting with the wife 4 years ago. I joined a dating site. I had a fantastic 6 months (Don’t ask!) Then I met the current and soon to be Mrs Vern. 3 years on and we are inseperable. She’s my best mate too. So no shame in the webdating scene. Good luck Marlow.
The internet is great for meeting new partners. When my wife and I split. I was working all the hours possible.
My social life went outta the window. I don’t do pubs/ clubs, so meeting people was hard. Had a great time with women I’d met online for about 6 months (Tripled my count! )
Then met current and final girlfriend online. Best thing ever. Well done and good luck!!
Thanks for all the good luck messages. Steady Vern, we’ve only been seeing one another for a fortnight, lol.
I have to admit I’m smitten, but….
I have two children, well young folk, at 18 and 19. They both know about Tracy and think it’s great that their dad has started going into Halifax of a Saturday night. I’ve worked all hours all since I was 11 and the last thing I needed was any responsibility, particularly financially, I plan to keep work down to 3 days a week in future or have a week off every 3rd week. Now although she has 3 children she is very financially independent. Indeed its funny when she calls at the bus in smart business suite and new 4x4 whilst I fret she will end up covered in oil from the bus.
Had a result today and came across a 1000 ltr ibc that will be the start of the water system on the bus. Hoping to take time off next week to start the bathroom. Once the water systems fully in place then I can fit my washing machine. I’m not yet independent on the bus, I have to charge my batteries at home and also rely on my ex for my washing and ironing.
I hope to sort this in the next few weeks with the installation of solar panels to keep up with the batteries then I just need to sort a timer switch on my genny so I can put a load of washing in as I leave for work and the genny will shut down after an hour or so.
So all in all life’s good.
Having said that I hate what I’m doing to our lass. The marriage broke down due to me and she’s suddenly having to live life on her own, but that’s her choice, nay, was her choice. Thing is, how ever things turn out with Tracy, she’s reminded me what its like to be a teenager again, I know now I’ll never go back to a 23 year marriage
Marlow…If she drives to your bus, without you asking her to come. She’s nuts about you too!
Take yer’ time mate. I tried a few before settling. It was tricky at first, seeing as I moved in with her. But we do everything together now. I wouldn’t be without her. She even conned me into a Euro driving holiday. Being as I was Euro tramping at the time, the girl done well.
Have you considered one of those mimi washing machines, that they use on narrow boats? That’ll be ideal for your bus. Efficient too.
