Lies, damn lies, and statistics

The problem is, those who know it’s bull like us, or care it’s bull like us, are not the ones voting Conservative in the first place.

Those who do think that Cameron & Osbourne are real swell guys, don’t give a ■■■■ about those beneath them in income.
The only reason interest rates are not rising is that “savers have to keep their cash” which they wouldn’t be able to if 80% of banks fell over within a year because of the en-masse default brought about by a sudden big hike in interest rates, emptying properties, defaulting even landlord rents, and wiping out savings so that pretty much everyone ends up losing some way or the other.
0.5% base rates is just the “going parasitic rate” of interest chargable to the most people at once right now, and for the past half decade of course. Charge what the market can stand, what people can afford. In a world of falling wages, disappearing jobs, and worsening T&C’s, that amount that “folk can afford” has gone done a lot in real terms already, without any rich twit trying to con us that not only has it bottomed, but “fully recovered”? - FFS - Someone kick this guy out of the treasury before the next election does it for him! Tatton swung away from the favoured candidate at a previous election - so I’m sure that can happen again!

Pay would have to DOUBLE to bring rates back to “2008 rates including the keeping up with inflation increment” for the past 6 years. :exclamation:
We’re never going to get that though, not without a revolution and a Guillotine set up outside the Bank of England. :smiling_imp:

Tax cuts don’t help us, unless we’re currently paying a lot of tax.
In 2009-10 I paid 5 figures in tax, let alone NICs on top that year.
The past 3 years, I’ve paid less than a grand in total - Go figure.
I’d rather like my 2009 job back please, but that was the one closed down, giving me that final push I needed to take the VR package going at the time. I would never have left full time if I could have kept the job I had in that very year I paid the most in tax, so I put it to you folks out there - Would you like to get a shedload of money and pay 50% tax on it, or get no money, and pay “very little tax on that”?

Yes and the last labour government, that’s the ones that support us workers, really helped get us back on the right track didn’t they.

That was a Labour government in name only. Look at moneybags Bliar filling his pockets now.

UK pay rising in real terms, says coalition - BBC News

Are they having a laugh?

Of course they are - at OUR expense!

Until we stop electing people who have never had a job, or have never had to live in the “real” world, it will always be the same. Parliament consists of the largest collection of “benefit scroungers” in the country. When are Channel 4 going to make a documentary about them?? - Never! - 'cos the ruling classes prefer it when we kick [zb] out of each other instead. This thread is barely started and already some half-wit is pitching private sector workers against public sector workers - when are we ever going to learn■■? They really know how to brainwash the plebs. United we stand, divided . . . . they’re laughing all the way to the bank!

Oh so true, figure manipulation is the name of the game, not one of these tossers have lived in the real world - our world that is.
Another thing that ■■■■■■ me off is this HS2, how on earth will that promote anything other than luxury travel for those that can afford it? The completed cost they reckon now will hit 80 BILLION! Branson says that by the time this is completed his trains will already be faster and that using the HS2 will only save 12 minutes Birmingham to London, surely to god there is something wrong here … or is it just me, I didn’t vote these idiots in, in fact no one did … did they? I had enough of tories when Thatcher was in, they screwed this country into the ground and its been there ever since.

Because the HST is a euro project designed by and for our real government,in Brussels.

I’m suprised that Milliband hasn’t told us all “A labour government would shelve the HS2 project”, thus raising at a stroke all the money required for labour’s other manifesto promises…

Surely kicking a proverbial ball into a goal where the goalkeeper is not present is an easy task? :open_mouth:

(I don’t know much about football, and ask such a question as a layman you see… )

That’s true but in the end they are no better that what we have now. In fact you could say they are worse as they still try to appeal to the working class, while the only difference is the colour of their rosettes come election time.
