licence

Now i have my Cat C licence, how long is it valid for? Will i ever have to take a medical or Re-test?

I looked on my licence and it looks like eleven years

Or i am being thick?

Valid until you’re 45, then a medical is required every five years to keep the licence.

I’m guessing you are 34?

…i was 35 in February.

So is it just medicals when i’m 45?, i won’t have to take another driving test or anything?

Just medicals, every 5 years from the age of 45 - 70.

Not unless you do something really silly.

Oh, and the Driver’s CPC when it comes in, you need to do that eventually.

This week I have been up the road doing my first bit of tramping for an owner/driver mate of mine, and at all the burger vans I’ve been hearing things all week about this “drivers cpc” malarky…will this apply to all drivers or will existing licence holders have grandfathers rights and be exempt?

Grandfather rights initially but will have to do the training to renew it.
