Can somebody advise me as i can’t find it on the DVLA website. My HGV 1 entitlement ran out on 19th Jan 16. I was out of the country and upon my return, i can’t get into a doctors for my medical until 2nd Mar 16. Can i still drive using section 88 RTA ? and will the DVLA renew my licence after this delay or will i be forced to re take the test.
No you can not ,(work mate had same problem ,couldn’t drive HGV till it was back )
Question Why did you not do it before you went ? and why can’t you get a medical in over a month 
Once it has expired then you can only drive once DVLA have authorized you to do so
And no you won’t need to take a re test.
No you cant as you have let it run out if you had a valid application in before the date it run out you could have and dont expect it to be a quick proses either as there currently 13 weeks wait in the medical dept
