Do you first need to take the hazard perception and multiple choice tests at a test centre if you want to take your class 2 practical. Having a pre 97 car licence, already being a 7.5 ton driver and having a valid dcpc qualification?
Yes, you do. But first you’ll need a medical to get your provisional CAT C licence. Some trainers, us included, can get cpc hours from your practical driver training. This will be credited to the 5 year period starting when your current cpc expires. So that’s a bonus!
Any questions, fire away.

YES
You must pass mods 1a + 1b before you can TAKE the LGV C test
You can do practical training without passing them BUT it is not advisable as most places book your test for the last day of a course and they cannot do that if mods 1 a + 1b have not been passed
