When I pass my class 2 and return my licence to the dvla will I;
1). Be able to undertake class 2 work whilst waiting for my full licence to come back
2). Be able to commence my class 1 training before I get the full licence back
Cheers

1 - technically yes but most employers want to see the licence first
2 - technically yes but the test cannot be taken until it comes back
How long does it take to come back? … how long is a piece of string … but usually within 2 weeks

That clears things up nicely thanks

You don’t have a provisional CE until your full C licence has been issued. So, unless we have proof that it has been issued, we would not take you on the road as it would simply be illegal. No barrier to reversing and coupling/uncoupling.

On-line proof ok for you Pete?
Of course. But proof is required. The danger is that someone can legitimately complete their course having proved entitlement and then not be able to take their test as they cant produce their licence.
I would prefer folks to produce their licence and complete the training in an orderly fashion without the stress of waiting for a licence that may or may not arrive in time for test.

Shame employers can’t just do a check as it would have been good to do some class 2 work whilst waiting for my class 1.
Thanks for the continued support, theory passed yesterday, doing cpc mod 2 today and then hazard perception tomorrow
