Licence renewal amd medical

Got my notification today from dvla that I need my first medical in a few months. Now on the renewal form I have to declare any convictions, spend or not. As I understand it this is more relevant to pcv holders, of which I am one, but drive lgvs. I have one spent and one unspent convictions, all be it 8 years apart. Is this likely to affect my renewal? Im not overly bothered about my pcv but I do need me lgv licence.
Thanks

Change the photo on your licence now and get the next medical expiry date in 2019 - seriously

So if just update my photo surely it will show that I havent had a medical which I meedr

Personally I would play it by the book, I suppose it depends on what your conviction (unspent) is for.
I do not want to know, but if its something unrelated to driving there shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

It has got absolutely nothing to do with driving.

How about just renewing your LGV licence? That way you’d not have to declare anything.

Good thinking. Never considered that…

They both get renewed together, I didn’t want my PCV renewed when I took the HGV medical but both where renewed automatically.
I let them both expire at 45 and took the medical at 47 a few months ago as I was offered the firms wagon and a wage rise.

The driving licence does not show if a medical has been taken but will show when the LGV/PCV entitlement expires and the expiry date is the legal bit

My medical forms have just dropped through the letterbox … My Xmas gift from DVLA

Change your photo instead and get LGV expiry in late 2018 or early 2019

That way I can push back the date of my 50th birthday. :unamused:

My current photo expires in 2019

You can submit a new 10 year photo at any time for £20 or £24.50 at a Post Office who will take the pic for you and electronically send to dvla

5 year medical probably over £50
Change photo = half that
Both will give 5 years on the LGV expiry date - unless they have stopped it but I doubt it

Rog, presumably that will only work if your licence is current.
eg it has not already lapsed.
global.

That would make logical sense

I’ve just had to renew my photo card and they gave me the extra 5 years on the HGV, received it back from DVLA last week.

Thank you as that proves they are still doing it  - if you had a medical due within the next 5 years…
