I sympathise with you Win ston. I’m on that road daily, some of the driving is unbelievable. Have to correct you on one thing though. It’s a 40 mph road not a 50. I’m happy at 40. Paid by the hour etc etc. Gets boring though.
… … … and where, pray, did I say that the speed limit was 50?
Looks like you need to reread your op as well as the highway code.
Perhaps if you lower your anticipated average speed on the road you might not get so annoyed at other drivers. I’m guessing you would be equally annoyed behind me doing 40mph as you were this guy doing 15mph

Yes we have A roads ‘doon sooth’ mate, and our fair share of bellend drivers…
But what we’ve learnt to do down here with our superior intelligence is send them on runs up to the grim grey North.
You’re welcome!
It sounds to me that this driver was a Newbie and didn’t know how wide his truck was, and possibly had a recent incident where he lost his N/S mirror, not that he sounds like he really needed it anyway!
The only thing i noticed was the use of the words: doon sooth now i have looked in the dictionarys both scottish and english, and cannot for the life of me find them, so i assume you meant to say ( with a plum in your mouth ) : Down South…now even a cockney can pronounce those correctly, and seeing that Rob is a mate of mine, would agree. and they are in the dictionary.
As for the other driver who caused you so much pain, may i suggest that in future you do not give way to a fellow driver, especially one who seems to have had one over the eight
