Anyone know what is involved in getting a licence back that has been ‘cancelled’ for ‘non-conformity’?
(not mine, I hasten to add!)

No - neither could I!

OK - a bit more info.
This person was caught by a camera late 2014 and done for speeding. After much shilly-shallying about, he took a speed awareness course in Jan/Feb this year.
A matter of weeks later, he was caught by the same camera again! The company sent his details to the court and he duly received a summons. He chose to deny all knowledge of it, swore on a heap of bibles it wasn’t him, he wasn’t there and pleaded not guilty! The company sent the court his digicard details, the in-cab tacho printout, his shift rota, his signed daily check sheet and his inside leg measurement! He had no alternative then but to plead guilty!
I UNDERSTAND he received a substantial fine, three points and a further three points for the previous offence and was instructed to send his licence to the court - which he ‘forgot’ to do! He received a further reminder to send his licence, which he also ‘forgot’ about! (The law doesn’t apply to him!)
He was then informed that his licence was ‘cancelled’ - not suspended - on 27th April.
I UNDERSTAND that on 2nd June he telephoned DVLA to find out where his new licence was, and was informed that it/he was ‘under investigation’.
Anyone out there any experience of this?
Steve
Let’s hope not!
At what point did his intelligence fail to engage■■?
No sympathy whatsoever (as long as he’s clinically sane…) We live by laws for a reason and while we might not all like them, without them we’re screwed!
P.S. No knowledge of anything like that, I’m not that big a ■■■■, although others may disagree.
Sounds like the only way his licence will be issued is by taking a test

That was my thought as well.

Tea and biscuits with the lovely B Bell?
He won’t need a to take a retest, they don’t have the authority to order that for what is effectively an administration exercise. One that is no longer required anyway now that the paper counterpart is defunct. His license has simply been ‘revoked’ because he failed to comply with the conditions of it. If he STILL hasn’t sent his license to the DVLA for endorsement, he needs to reapply for his license and he’ll get it back. Note: he can’t drive until he reapplies.
But yes, he may indeed need to go to the TC for tea & biccies. He/She is a whole different animal, and can take action up to suspending/removing any vocational entitlements, though that’s unlikely for just 3 points. As for getting a further 3 points for the previous offence, nope, BS, if he completed the SAC, they’d be barred from prosecuting him for hat offence. What’s more likely is he’s been hit with 6 points and a lovely MS90 code for ‘failing to furnish’.
Suggest your ‘mate’ gets his arse onto Pepipoo forums, where they can try to help him sort out his mess.

Your mate needs to re-apply for his licence with the DVLA, which will be initially denied, the application will then be sent to the court dealing with it to close off the endorsement side of things, once that is done they will allow the DVLA to reinstate the licence, which can take up to 6 weeks.

This would explain why it has taken so long.
Thanks all for the info, which was just to satisfy my own curiosity, as he is no ‘mate’ of mine - he’s my ex-son in law!

The bloke sounds a proper moron probably best for all if his licence stayed cancelled.

This he should be nowhere near a vehicle of any description.
