LGV training schools and the artic un/couple - question

As many companies now insist that the height controls in the unit are used for un/coupling and the DSA are happy for that method to be used on test then why is this not taught as standard

I’ve worked at companies that don’t allow split coupling, but apart from that I’ve never driven at a company where they care what system you use to couple/uncouple as long as you don’t take too long to do it and don’t do any damage.

I was not referring to split coupling but to the standard method where the height controls are used

I’ve used the height controls with no issue.

On test for the un/couple Pete ?

Yes

I’ve just done my class 1 and failed but I’ve been taught to use the In cab controls by my learning school.

I’ve not done my c+e training yet but the way I’ve been shown to couple by a friend is to use the height controls.
