Just passed my theory test and am looking for LGV ‘C’ training in Essex (Thurrock),has anyone here heard of or used Newcroft in Purfleet and would they recommend them?Or ‘Stirling’ or ‘Qualitas’ Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Try doing a search on Sterling on here, it should be enough to put you off. I think Newcroft are OK, and have heard Qualitas are OK too.
Qualitas only use a drawbar outfit for C+E though, it’s the same vehicle as you do your C in put with a box trailer rather than a conventional artic unit and trailer.
When I trained in Chelmsford with Chelmer Valley, one of the other trainees was travelling up from Thurrock as he felt it was the best school around, personally I’d recommend them as they were excellent. Although not the cheapest, the amount of tuition more than balanced things.
Give them all a ring and talk to them on the phone about what training they provide for your money and ask if they do a free assessment. Take anything on offer that’s free it’s all useful.
Put that lot together and you should be able to select a school.
Hi Polocoileain, i have just booked a course with Newcroft. It’s a 4 day course for £650. Although they can do longer courses if you feel you would need one. I had a chat with them over the phone and found out what they had to offer, and booked a free half hour assessment to check out thier facillities. They seemed pretty good to me. I start my course on the 30th. Good luck with your search. Tom
I know of Newcroft and I believe them to be a good reliable company with experienced instructors.
They are not a huge UK wide company nor are they an agency - which is good.
Newcroft are very very good. Go with them they’ll get you through. Stich, Steve and john and all the boys are good guys.
