It’s a broker. The broker model is:
Charge you as much as possible
Send you to the cheapest trainer they can find (maximises their profit)
A statement on their website is that they have access to more trainers than any other company. Big deal. You have access to every trainer in the country!
Go direct; you’ll do a lot better.
Pete
I was gonna go direct and the there was only £50 in it and i also manged to get insurance to cover for both tests should i need to retake test

Its entirely up to you who you go with, The advice given out here is to visit the training company, see their trucks and facilities and make sure your happy with them before you sign any agreements/up for training. Most training schools will be only to happy to oblige, those that don’t I would ask yourself why.
Don’t go with a broker, just go direct with a training company. It’s so easy to google what you need to do and when. I did my training direct with Scania and did everything else myself, it’s not hard… I almost fell into the broker trap but luckily my dad is a HGV driver and insisted i went with Scania, i passed everything first time.
I,ve done what i can myself the only thing they will be doing is the practical stuff test and cpc as i did the medical myself provisional and also got my digi taco card

As they’re a broker, they don’t do the training. They just do the admin and then sign you up to the cheapest/closest training school to where you live.
Therefore it’s pointless asking how people have found LGV Training because as I’ve said, they don’t train anybody!

You’ve done your cpc module 2 test yes?
If not get it done. Otherwise you’ll be in a situation where you’ve passed your test but can’t drive for a few weeks because your waiting to do the mod 2 & 4.
Also, find a training company that incorporates the mod 2 during your practical.
No but your right in what you say as there next cpc runs november as octobers is all booked up

i would want to be applying for jobs as soon as I’d passed my test and it was all fresh. Passing your test then waiting 2,3,4 weeks before getting your cpc puts you on the Backfoot when it comes to having a driving assessment.
You’re pooping it on them anyway when you’ve passed the test. Imagine doing it after not stepped into a truck for 4 weeks after passing.
I know thats my concern alternativley i can wait to do the cpc first then the practical but i really just want to get on as i cant stand much more in my current job

Stay well clear of the LGV training company. Stupidly paid over the odds for training with them.
Class 2 training was with Hughes driver training in a knackered old Volvo which didn’t help.
Class 1 training through essential transport training of Rochdale was spot on which in all fairness made a massive difference.
Just don’t expect the lgv training company to live up to their guaranteed interview promise.

Been onto them today asking for what schools they use in Brum and was give a ■■■■ excuse that due to legal reasons they can not disclose the information so another call will be made 2mrw which i guess will be heated

Did you pay by credit card ? - if yes then you have a chance of cancelling
Anyone know of any decent LGV Training Centres in and around Somerset? I’ve got my Class 2 but not driven commercially for some time. I just need my Class 1 and CPC Training. Cheers!

You can still apply for a chargeback if you paid via a debit card - did you pay the full amount or just a deposit?
