Fancy buying a decent quality replica LGV but due to the expense would like to handle it and see it up close before i buy. Does anyone know of any shops on the high street that sell them. I know they are in various trucking magazines but as i said like to view first before i buy.
Also thought to myself (as well as being a bit of fun playing with them) could also be a useful learning tool for newbies like me. You could work you way around the vehicle saying out loud the checks you would do. By the time you’re ready for module 4 it should be a piece of ■■■■. If the reversing is realistic you can practice some nasty reverses until you can reverse into anything.
Plus be a nice display peice as well.
I know what some of you might be thinking: you need to get laid mate.
But some of them look really cool.
There is a atlas editions (see website) but only does a selection of stobarts and they look more like toys. Not the quality that i am after. Metal, realistic detail, and if any equipment like hiab it can be operated, etc…
I know you said you want to see them up close but the Tekno Collector site in Holland is one of the best sites for model trucks and the quality is pretty much guaranteed.
Depends what scale you want. Oxford diecast mainly do 1:76 and are very good value for money and well detailed. Corgi, WSI and Tekno make 1:50. Corgi are cheapest ( around £60-80 ) and very good value for money. WSI and Tekno are a lot more expensive ( around £120 upwards) but are a lot more detailed and a lot lot more limited, usually about 150 made. Most WSI and Teknos will increase in value, only some Corgi will. It also depends what vehicle make you want?
Well i’ll say it.You need to get laid mate

Some see it as an investment ,my father in law has 15-20k worth of model buses sat in his loft…over 500 individual models.

Thanks Terry T hadn’t heard of that one i’ll check it out.
Saw a truck model magazine in whs the other day. Got a hiab in there looks really good. Didn’t have time to thoroughly go through it so don’t know what make it was.
Had heard of corgi. But that was about all really. Some of what i’ve seen were in the £100 to £200 price range so maybe they were not corgi.

I am working on it.
Here is the Tekno website.
I’ve seen them up close at shows and they’re very good.
Thanks for the link. They do look good.
