jacobholding.co.uk/about = seems like a broker to me but the only way to be sure is to call them on the free number and ask for an assessment before you are prepared to part with any money - then see what they say

A ‘proper’ lgv training company will be happy to do that

Registered Address "Unit 703 73 Holloway road Highbury, London N7 8JZ "

I seem to remember one of the previous Broker incarnations based at that address.

Facebook page non existent and Twitter page not updated.

Caveat Emptor.

Never book any training online until you have visited the premises, seen the vehicles and met the instructors

I have one of their totally dissatisfied customers at the moment. Stay well clear! Pete

They might be a broker…
Brokers typically charge a ‘mark-up’ on normal fees, then pass you along to the ‘real’ provider.
There’s nothing illegal about this type of business practice, but please do some checking before you possibly pay more than you need to when a mainstream provider can usually do everything at a cheaper cost?

The usual clues are that no address is given in the ‘contact’ section of their website and the phone numbers are not area specific. Personally speaking, I would not use this company.

I’ve just checked their price for an ADR course (from £1,099 :open_mouth: ) and it is at least £300 more expensive than the most expensive ADR course that I’m aware of. BTW, I’ve been in the ADR training industry since 2003.

Scroll to see their ADR price for yourself:

Once you’ve looked at that, please consider that there’s no such thing as “SQA Intensive Training” (Their words.)
I’ve also never heard of “SQA ■■■■■■■■■■ Fees” (Their words.)

Do you have any particular reason for considering this company in preference to a known quantity from the TN list of recommended providers here?

If you give us a clue as to your location, you’ll probably get a personal recommendation from somebody with first-hand direct dealings with a provider near you. Much safer IMHO, but ultimately only you can decide where your cash goes.

Maybe I could add “unless you have rock solid recommendation”.

Many of our customers travel from all over the UK (and beyond) and it simply wouldn’t be practical to visit prior to booking.

Practical or not, if i am parting with a substantial amount of folding i would travel anywhere even book the day off work to view the setup before committing myself. That’s down to the individual i guess.

I totally agree. And we’ve had forum users come for a visit from Reading, Durham, Belgium (only on Thursday this week and he’s not on the forum). But, for some, it’s not an option. But I believe the risk is substantially lower when there is rock solid recommendation for a trainer.

For me, I would want to see. But if that was not a feasable option, then I’d be led by recommendation.
