Lgv ce new driver

NEW AND WANNABE DRIVERS (INTERACTIVE)

Having just passed my LGV CE, does anybody know of ant companies that will give new drivers a job. I’m up in West Yorkshire driving for Montgomery’s but can’t get on the artics as I work out of there leeds depot and all artics run from Preston. Any help would gratefully be appreciated… cheers craig

Best bet would be to go knocking on doors but first ask your management if you could get a transfer if you are prepared to move or travel.

I figured to would make sense considering you already know the company.

I know Peckover were looking for CE not so long back, also try Bannisters or T Riley they look for new drivers every so often. You could also try MCDowells in Keithley either direct or through their agency partners. There is quite a few in leeds/normanton/m62 corridor that you can speak to. Often don’t advertise openly but speak to them and you might get lucky. Just a case of ask and hope.

In normanton, I can’t remember if it’s Norbert Dressangle ( prob spelt wrong but can’t be assed googling watching transformers again! ) or Kuene and Nugel. They called me last week with a job assessment but I don’t have CE yet so maybe still looking ? A week though is a lifetime in this industry !!

Expect Distribution will give newbies a go . A pal of mine passed his class 1, the week after he was offered a job and a brand new unit at Prestons of Potto, Knottingley depot, tramping. Viamaster and Stobarts Sherburn are looking for drivers and if you are feeling very brave George Walkers are also looking. Good luck.

I work in the same yard as walkers and I see how there lads get battered everyday, think I will give them a miss
