LGV C+E practical test routes

Hello all,

I am going to be doing some driver training around Grimsby as an instructor/learner ‘stooge’ for a DVSA Approved Instructor re-registration candidate quite soon. I am not entirely new to driver training & licence acquisition but neither am I an old-hand at it - especially C+E, so a bit of homework is required.
Just wondering if anyone had available suitable (C+E) test routes as they are no longer available on DVSA web-site, I have done a wider internet search and can only find car test routes for Grimsby, these maybe suitable for C+E but I doubt it.

Either a link or downloads/attachments would be fantastic.
Hopefully this will make a nice, enjoyable change for me but I don’t want to make any schoolboy errors. Hence request for help in preperation.

Cheers!!!

Probably best to do what I did - find the popular T-bar layby that all the trainers park at for breaks and pick their brains and/or go to the test centre and ask the examiners

I found the examiners to be a great font of knowledge and got exactly what they expected from candidates

Discreetly follow a truck from the test centre.

The test centre is on Est Rd No 1 & the popular butty van is at the top of Est Rd No 6, you’ll see all the training vehicles parked up around there through out the day

UPDATE:
Ok, so I’ve been out and about round Grimsby this week training a candidate for the DVSA re-registration for voluntary LGV Instructor register (C+E).

I must say after a steady start I’ve really enjoyed it… so far!!! Sorted out four test routes which I (as the instructor) practised with the candidate and good news she passed her test today (the LGV driving test element) with 3 or 4 minor faults & now we concentrate on the Instructional element ready for her Friday test.

I have been doing the driving this afternoon while she was the Instructor - and I found it ok, if hard work with some tight spots and trying to drive to test standard/conditions…not easy & very tiring (2 x test routes completed)!!

I am seriously thinking about doing the DVSA vol. reg. test(s) myself - hopefully with support and backing from my company, it will mean another feather in the cap. As I said I have enjoyed it so far from the Instructor’s seat - even with my limited experience as an LGV Instructor/trainer. Good stuff. Lets hope tomorrow & Friday go well too!!
