They all work the same. Plus there’s fines for late deliveries not with Hermes but certainly with others most pay max 180 per day.
IF work Monday to Friday -12 hours every day after break=60 hours for 11 pound=660 per week.plus Saturday 10 hours for 13 p/h=130.total 790 plus VAT .Total about 950 .
Isn’t it piece rate for parcel drops rather than an hourly rate?
The adverts are invariably for “owner drivers” which implies YOU pay for running your own van, and only get paid for the actual drops…?
TNT Thetford are advertising I notice, so I would imagine that this is a national “recruitment” thing in that it’s not actually a proper job, but a kind of franchise. A fine can wipe out your entire day’s earnings though, if I understand the system correctly.
Yes a lot is parcel rate but there are fines and some service providers pay more than others or you work for a subby rather than the company advertising

If parcel companies could make home delivery pay they would. They can’t, so they franchise it out.
There’s a sign on the side of the M1 at the moment just south of the M6 saying £900+ per week for HGV drivers. Can’t remember who advertises it now but I’ll take another look tomorrow morning when I go past.
Probably www.flyingpigs.com
Terry its more to do with insurance and employee status than anything else
