LEZ

germangeezer:
yeh ive had all the boys do the c/rail induction john, its 7 hours long we did it at the crossrail offices at their site in farringdon road, its 5 hours about how not to kill cyclists, 1 hour about fuel consumption and 1 hour about terrorists!!! wot a crock of [zb], still it counts as 7 hours of your driver cpc training another crock of [zb]!!! i dont know why im bothering john ive got he pox with the game big time now!

I’ve just been inducted for TCRU at Tottenham Court Road offices a month back as I had 30 loads to tip at Mount Pleasant which is GPO railway connected to TCR job, the train takes 4 pallets of gear 3 - 4 times per day, I used a 26’ flat doing them 12 at a time, it says Crossrail all over the card but that does’nt count!!! I can work on site now but can’t deliver there as I’m not driver inducted, ffs its a joke.

I’m doing loads of gear into Paddington now & a job in Moorgate too, I spoke to a tipper driver He filled Me in on it & said it was all cycling ■■■■ as for terrorism they are having a laugh are’nt they!!!■■?

Anyways Paul the likes of Me & You will be busy for 18 months until the foundations are in. I’ve got the pox with it too its time Johnny spread His wings again…

suppose ill be seeing you in the belgians then for some souvla and amstel then john boy! happy days.

As usual Mark we are being anally raped whilst the flip flop lot come & go as they please. I was in a no win situation with this Crossrail thing looming, FH13 already liviried 700k kms & as I loath moving house…

I’m having a Baumot fitted to a Volvo FH13 Rolle265…

I’ll let ye know what difference it makes at the end of the week…

Hows the new baumont working fly?
been doing some checking on the lez website and my mates version 1 w reg euro 3 volvo 8 wheeler’s ok to go in as it still has an rpc cert up to date!
you cant make it up!.. i say sod the exhaust i’ll have an old v1 volvo with rpc please!
moose

I saved my company potentially £2000 yesterday.

We had a 2 coach job into Heathrow Airport, which is in the LEZ, and they wanted to send 2 of our 55 plates, which as of Tuesday are non compliant.

I pointed this out by asking whether they were paying the £200 charge for my coach or if they expected me to pay it and claim it back!

I could have been a ■■■■, said nothing, and landed them with a £1000 fine. The other driver didn’t have a clue so he would have just taken his one, and another £1000 fine would have been on the way.

Still waiting for a “thank you” though.

newmercman:
I was thinking earlier about the LEZ bollox, I know they have ANPR cameras to check compliance, but do these cameras pick out Johnny Foreigner and apply the same charges for non compliance, or do they just persecute the British  :unamused: :unamused:

As far as Im aware, no they dont pick us up, tee hee hee… Unless you are daft enough to register which gives them an address to send a fine to. however once a fine has been sent it has to be collected, not an easy task.

I should of got that foden and a set of Romanian plates would have saved a bomb lol

Its a bit of a strange thing moose, I had a few teething problems which the guy who fitted it sorted out, nothing really to do with the exhaust just the ■■■■ they fit for monitoring what the filters up to.

My only concern apart from it looks ■■■■ & is ■■■■ sure to get robbed is they’ve put a drain in the bottom of the stack can & condensation collects so every time I fill up I remove the water trap & drain a ■■■■ full of water off, the fitter told Me in hindsight He should have fitted it part way up the can & will do it for Me next time I’m passing.

Its noisier than the origional too but the lorry feels livlier, fuel is no better but no worse either. If you know anyone who needs a lhd 6x2 rear lift thats LEZ complient till 10/13 pls let Me know as I may be selling it in the near future…

hi john boy, got the invite to TFL building for a seminar with vosa, tfl and lez, vosa bit all very interesting, tfl bit wanted to sign you up for the FORS scheme not to bad, but the lez geezer was a joke the boys ripped into him and he could’nt wait to get out of the room, but he did say and this was strait out of the horses mouth that they have no plans for euro 5 yet at all in 2015 they have to wait and until the big cheese in brussels demands it, it was hilarious when i said to him how come everyone in europe is getting a government grant to pay for their exhausts and us brit scum aint!!!. regards paul.

I hope you wore a disguise Paul…lol

I’ve registered for FORS quite a bit back, I get bombarded with e-mails but unlike yourself & a few others I know with a few lorries I have’nt been visited yet, Diamond who has about 15 had the visit yesterday just the usual waffle over checking licences H&S etc etc, so now He’ll be a bronze member, I’ll keep me head down & plod on with my shiny new pipe up the cab. I did hear the continentals where getting a hand setting up, I priced a trap in Denmark to fit to mine but it was even dearer than here with the £ being bobbins.

I was supposed to be on the Crossrail drivers induction today as I’ve been pulled for overvisiting but they could’nt fit me on (not physically) but no spaces. They reckon its 8hrs FFS, have any of your lads been on it yet?? Off mountain biking instead though…

I have been selected to apply to FORS! :open_mouth:

How does that work then? I got an email suggesting I need to join Boris and his clowns for the Olympics. It seems a lot of companies have joined. Has any one here been assessed, was it painful?

fors-online.org.uk/index.php … =P_LANDING

I will attend anything that is free, but what are the hidden costs? :grimacing:

I did the maths for the LEZ conversions it just did’nt work out cost wise, have now got 57regs which will last till I hang the keys up for good!(some of my mates have had them done & have had turbo or exhaust filter problems)also doing Crossrail ,extra cameras, side sensors, fire extinguisher, warning triangle the list go’s on etc plus a day at Farringdon Rd why not compulsory training & a registration number for cyclists?

Don’t be silly people on bike are more important than you, haven’t you seen all the nice new trucks from Poland and beyond?? were did they get the money from :astonished: :astonished:

I guessed they were more important than a scabby tipper driver thats why they are allowed jump red lights, ride on the pavement, ride the wrong down one way streets etc and don’t forget about terrifying elderly pedestrians!bikes or the rider should have a reg no same as other road users!(I could get a silly head camera then post them & their reg no’s on You Tube)It’s case of cyclists being more responsable road users.I have a bike but avoid riding in London!.Re nice new trucks, where did the money come from?? the old Eastern bloc transport co’s ran some nasty tackle!

Someone must think I like London, because today there is an email offering me free DCPC training in Hammersmith. As long as I listen to a few squished cyclists and watch their helmet cameras.

Strangely enough they are also advertising it in Comical Motor, but if Boris can provide funding for that, can the proper government provide free training for the other modules?

I think we’ve strayed a bit of the LEZ thread, but re the Hammersmith & Fulham DCPC thing,I did’nt know there any lorry drivers left in that area thought it was all “merchant bankers”

The lez is a joke.
How can you have a lez with 3 airports in it? (Heathrow, Northolt, london city)
It’s all a scam and a sham same as co2 to fleece the populace.
Remove the co2 and you remove the oxygen, basic biology.
co2 is NOT BAD!
