Leyland DAF 45

Hello
I was out in the car lately and I was suprized to see two BT operated Leyland DAF 45’s out at work. This got me thinking. How many of the old 45’s are still working for a living?
Haven’t they all been replaced by the newer DAF LF’s?
Please can you help with this request. Infomation, memories & photos of the old Leyland DAf 45’s would be great.
Kindest Regards

Hi ■■■■■■■■ Gill,
Is this the " Chuckle Brothers " equivalent to the Popemobile Leyland used for ferrying the Pope on his tours in the 1980s ?

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

Is there any Leyland Roadrunners still going, I thought the low window at the front passenger footwell was a good idea

Hello everyone
Thankyou to cattle wagon man, toowise and legion for there interesting posts. Many thanks marra
cattle wagon man and legion, Stobart’s use the 45 for transporting fuel to the planes at London South End Airport. Its actually a new vehicle on the fleet since it has only been used since the begining of March
toowise, yes, there is still a few Roadrunners about. I mainly see them been used as recovery lorries or horse boxes, but I know of quite a few small building firms in ■■■■■■■ who use them.

A proper Roadrunner (with the little window in the passenger side corner) would still be a great sight on the roads. I still see the odd 45 though.
