KW:
The sun was shining? You sure that was Truckfest Ben?
Awesome pics,my fave’s are the ASG Scania 141 and that VW T5 van, that really is something!
Hi KW, The ASG 141 scanny was one of the few trucks that caught my eye.
I remember tipping in ASG’s place in Gothenburg when their yard was full of trucks just like that one, but they also had the 3-axle rigid version as the prime mover for the Swedish wag-and-drag.
And yes, I can confirm that the sun did shine at Truckfest, especially on the Sunday.
Looks like BB missed out on the free brews that were on offer on the TNUK stand, but it’s obvious he was busy taking the great pictures he’s shared with us. Nice pics BB and thanks for taking the time to post them.

The 141 was almost my favourite truck of the day, it was only pipped by the F16 as i prefer Volvo’s to Scania’s…
Keith, the sun did shine, rather a lot as it happens, burnt Face and Neck pay testament to that!! LOL

I was going to pop by the TN stand, but had a group of Women and Kids in tow, so didnt think it would be appropriate… Maybe next year.

Hi BuzzardBoy, The women and kids would have been most welcome, as were all the other women and kids that visited the TNUK stand.
There were even three TNUK members who brought babies in for a filter change, and the babies were welcome too. We gave tea/coffee to everybody who came, so you dipped out on a free brew this year. Never mind though; cos as you say, there’s always next year, so I’ll look forward to meeting you then.
The ASG Scania, i have just noticed, looks like it has the wrong rear mudguards on it for the era the truck came from…
These lok very British, can you confirm if they are Swedish Spec of the time, or are they wrong??
Hi BuzzardBoy, I’d say those rear mudguards look about right for a UK registered truck of that era. The Swedes wouldn’t have had that type of mudguards though, because of the need to fit snow-chains in winter.
We used to remove the centre part of the mudguard from between the two stays, for the same reason, but we had to fit ‘whole’ new ones at M.O.T. time otherwise we’d have failed the test.
I remember the Swedes having jokes about our mudguards when they saw them.

I thought. as HE Payne had made a Swedish Replica Truck they might have had the correct mudgaurds on it, or did ASG have UK registered trucks too??
A nice selection of pix there BB, sorry i weren’t around. To be honest i’d tied myself in knots over the previous 5 weeks, when i got to Peterboro it was all i could do to waddle about, pathetic, but incredibly tired. Even some of my closest friends made comment how u weren’t my self. The comment was made how they’d never known me to spend so much time away from my truck. Sorry to all those that i missed. I hope to see some of you at Santa Pod.
