Got a nearly new tumble dryer off the mother in law(bless her) as our old one had given up after 18 yrs.
Anyway its a bit more new fangled than our old one and the trouble is ,it heats up but doesnt tumble,she says it worked perfectly well when she had it.Have checked the obvious ie to see if the belt has come off but in all honesty not sure if its belt driven 
Had to put it on its back to transport it(the dryer not the mil) . . any pointers?
Its a Hotpoint aquarius ctd 40 btw .
had a similar situation with a washing machine. just moving it around while decorating. two wires had come of their spade connectors. just crimped some new ones on and all was fine.
know what you mean though. our tumble drier started making a funny noise a while ago. I took the back off and frankly was none the wiser. everything was enclosed with sheet metal. I would of been there all night dismantling the thing. so I decided the noise was actually quite harmonic and drowned out the kids so was a good thing.
