Sorry if this has already been mentioned and I have missed it!!! However, let this be a lesson to all the dashcam / phone cam heroes out there that stalk others like prey in the night!!
I heard on the news today (radio 2) that Essex Police are issueing NIP’s to those people that were taking pictures / filming the aftermath of the accident the other day involving 3 lorries (near thurrock I believe) including driving without due care and attention and using mobiles whilst driving!!!
Dashcam is a different beast altogether, to people leaning out the window with a mobile phone and taking footage. Most dashcams are forward facing ‘safety’ cameras fitted to the windscreen or dashboard on proper mounts.
May have worded it slightly wrong and yes I agree that dashcams can be a good thing if used correctly, ie not just having one in the hope of seeing something that you can upload to faceache or you tube or similar!! If you know what I mean!?
Does that mean that a “Heroic” grade camera that you can take pics with legally - has to be helmet mounted, or on the top of the dashboard and able to swivel with a switch on the steering column?
Yeh. “Helmet Mounted” is the one most elect for I think, especially the cyclists. Plenty of them are helmets as it is…

Just about sums Essex police up,what are the real crimes blighting the lives of the people of Essex, oh I know rubbernecking. I would imagine most of those people if not all will not here anything further.
Essex police are about as much use as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest just ask the fella on here a few weeks ago who was assaulted and robbed whilst nighting out in Chelmsford.
They are a joke and a pretty sick joke at that considering the hard working people of Essex are paying for them plus an extra hundred grand plus for the non entity of a police commissioner Nick Alston who is asking for even more money.

Ah, good old Essex po!ice, colluding in keeping an innocent man in prison for 30 years, altering their statements, losing evidence, destroying other evidence despite court orders. Bless 'em
