Less than professional driver

Another event not worthy of commenting on, even if you had a passenger with you at the time.

I think it was Jakey, ‘riding shotgun’. …they’re big buddies now you know.
Patrolling and marshalling the roads, righting wrongs, and liaising with the Old Bill…a kind of cut price Police tractor unit operation.

M6 last night about midnight I was following a truck in lane 1 of 4, his brake lights go on and off quite a few times and he’s slowing down so I move to overtake. I see then he’s about 1 car length from a car in front of him, the motorway is almost empty by the way. Brake lights keep coming on. We are approaching junction 12 so I think well he’s not overtaking because he’s coming off here. Car driver signals and comes off then he just carries on. He’s got 3 empty lanes 2 of which he’s allowed to use yet he chooses to drive dangerously close to a car that is driving at 50mph. Is he just brain dead or inept at driving to a point where he can’t check his mirrors, signal and change lanes then either push a pedal or use his finger on the cruise control button to accelerate?

Did you send your dash cam footage to the company whose vehicle was being driven in such a way, or the police? If not what change do you think will happen?

Posting on here will make no difference what so ever so if you haven’t & frankly it could be argued that by NOT reporting it you are condoning such behaviour. For the removal of doubt I don’t think you approve, you just ain’t bothered enough to take the option you do have.

Jake posts some sense in all fairness, may be looking at the job from a few years ago when there was some pride in it?
Rowley, do you want this driver found and shot, what answers did you expect from your post or was it you that could not get past the offending car until it exited at junction 12? Who knows or cares

.

Nope. Been at it years

Years?? Hmmmmmm.

now now,
it says he took just under 3 years of training to get his class 2,then only 3 weeks later to get his class 1,so he obviously learns as quick as he drives…

3 years of training to get a class 2, was it a catalogue company who provided the training, £4.20 per week over 3 years?

Thanks for the heads up Doggy but I’ve got some footage to delete off my dash cam first, never realised I was that close to the car at junction 12!

Here we go again Trucknets newest double act Rowley and Jake :sunglasses: …, Morecambe and Wise or the Chuckle brothers? discuss
Both turning over non events in a Derek and Clive stylee, that all of us see a hundred times everyday and just shake our heads and tut about, …but why settle for that when an in depth debate can be an alternative.

Anybody hurt?
Any scrapes or collisions?
Any dangerous near misses ?
Anybody killed?
No?
Then just move on.
Not worth bothering about chaps.

OK, as you say no ones been hurt and no collisions but surely you realise that occasionally (maybe very occasionally) these situations lead to serious accidents? Apart from that the driver in question has absolutely no right to do what he was doing. ie intimidating an other driver no matter what happened previously (if anything)

It’s BAD driving and how anyone on here shrugs it off as an everyday occurence is totally wrong. COMPLACENCY at it’s best. :unamused:

We all agree it’s bad driving, and statistically and circumstantially accidents will happen whatever, that is a fact of life.
But whether it is bad driving or not, it IS unarguably an everyday occurrence, so it ain’t ‘‘totally wrong’’… is it ?
So, what’s the alternative?..
Make a song and dance about, and record and discuss EVERY incident of total non event on a forum?

Sorry but I disagree (strange that. ) but it is totally wrong and instead of everyone making it out its an everyday occurrence something needs to be done about it.
These morons need to be eradicated because eventually they will wipe themselves or worse some innocent driver out. Why do you condone these idiots that put others at risk?
Would you not rather they disappeared from the roads or will we just wait to see when their luck runs out? :unamused:

TBH what you say is… eg. knife crime in London is an every day occurrence so that’s the way it is…let’s not bother doing anything about it. Who the F cares if innocent people die?.. :unamused:
Does not involve me so lets things carry on… :unamused: Great attitude.

Oh dear.
The age old tactic of comparing a traffic incident with a heinous crime,.and making an analogy of it, to ram home a point…not worth addressing Jakey tbh,.and I thought even you were better than that.

I ain’t condoning it,.I’m being realistic, and facing facts.
Of course I agree these idiors are just that…idiots, but they are always going to be there until the Police prioritise on them rather than…well you know where I’m going with this, so what’s the point of continuing.
More police presence on the roads is the only way to sort it, and you and Rowley rambling on about it ain’t gonna make a ■■■■ of difference.

Just trying to get my point over to the ones that class these dangerous drivers as everyday occurrences because nine times out of ten nothing happens.
Never have I said that me or anyone else rambling on about it will make any difference and I never expect it will however others regarding them as an everyday occurrance and ignoring them makes me angry because I have seen the grief and life shattering things that occur when it all goes wrong. I do however agree more police presence would help prevent such bad driving.

I tailgate everyone. If your going to be a tadger and drive at 52mph on a motorway il get tight up your ring overtake you then shave your wipers with my back doors on the way back in. Sue me.

You are legally allowed to drive at 50mph in a car or even slower even if it’s safe to do 70. Deal with it.

It’s drivers like you doing what you’ve just described why everyone on the road hates us. Nice one thanks.

Your welcome sweetcheeks. If you sit at 50mph on an empty 4 lane motorway then you sir are one of the biggest ■■■■■■■■ lorrys drivers to ever grace the roads.

Driving like that would also see you fail a driving test it is a requirement to make progress.

It’s not illegal presently but as the roads have got more congested there does seem to be a bit more of a war on the potterers about. The argument ‘I’m doing the speed limit so no-one should need to go past me’ didn’t wash when they cracked down on middle lane hogs.

The fast=dangerous and slow=safe isn’t really the full picture.

There’s plenty of stuff you could fail a driving test for that isn’t technically illegal. Until a minimum speed limit is introduced if a car driver chooses to do 50mph on a motorway they are well within their rights to do this. Yes it means professional drivers have to go to the trouble of checking mirrors and moving into another lane and back again, I know that’s a difficult and annoying task to have to do when we just want to sit there with cruise control on.
