Leg Pains

I find a jesters shoes moment helps with my leg pains…

Scanias give me a numb bum… oh and dont use that fiery jacks anywhere near your nuts…

I remember a chap telling me years and years back that Scania got sued because of this very problem and DVT…dont know if it was true or not though.

I don’t know the details, but I remember reports of legal action against Scania and their “P” cab trucks. That’s the smallest of the 4 series range.

This pain is caused by having the seat base too high, lower your seat a little and tilt it slightly forward and the pain will not occur. The seat base should be no higher than the length of your lower leg from the heel to the back of knee, and there should be no discernible pressure on the back of the knee from the seat squab.

FWIW pain in the thighs is NOT a symptom of DVT.

Phlebitis is an inflammation in the superficial veins and is often on the inside of knees, there is no specific treatment for it except anti inflammatories like ibuprofen

DVT in LGV drivers can easily be prevented by flexing toes up and down and clenching calf muscles periodically but often. A sensible low cholesterol diet and keeping weight under control wouldn’t hurt either!

Nice reply!

But nonetheless it would appear from what you are saying that DVT is a distinct possibility in this profession?

I get it in my knees. Had only ever driven dafs and scanias up until lately and never had a problem. I’m in a man tgx now and can’t stick more than 2 hours at a time. The only way I can get relief from it is to let the seat up and take off my boots and shove my feet well in under the pedals.

When I got my current R420 I used to get it in the top of my right leg, not had it for about two years until today.
