Left footed driving

this applies to the right footed dudes,if your left footed, then the opposite applies which will save some smartpants posting"im left footed so it don’t affect me" :unamused:
when your bored and fedup, how many of us have tried to drive using your left foot instead of your right foot for a while to relieve the boredom and /or/amuse yourself…with or without disasterous results anyone?? I do it quite often and obviously easier in an auto…any takers?

This answers the other thread “average iq of lorry driver”

I’m left handed but sometimes to relieve boredom I use my right, but that’s another matter

I used to hold the throttle on my bike with my left hand, on long cold journeys then hold the engine block with my right hand & try & get some life back into it.
These days it’s all heated grips & heated suits/gloves.

You’ve never lived until you need a crane to lift your frozen solid, lifeless body off a bike. [emoji57]. Lol.

lets hope you don’t get so bored you try it upside down with hands on the pedals and feet on the steering with a carefully placed mirror to see where you are going.

I once tried to cycle around the house with my head in a card board box and my only view being the screen on my digital camera - I never made it - LOL

Has anyone tried riding one of those trick bikes where you turn the handlebars to the left and the front wheel turn to the right ?

The above was my first thought.

Been there done that, I haven’ got heated grips on this bike, as I only work about 4 miles from home so I manage with ski gloves.

58, mostly retired, and still capable of having a right laugh - I’m very content with being a-bit-thick but happy

I’ll never forget the first time I tried braking with my left foot I thought I was gonna fly through the windscreen :open_mouth:
(in a car I hasten to add, and I was still very young and stupid, as opposed to now being old and stupid),

Don’t seem to use either foot much nowadays! Traffic nonwithstanding I mainly control the motor with a mixture of right thumb (resume/set etc) or maybe the middle finger of my right hand for the exhaust brake stalk.

Careful mate, that’s going to get used in court!
You’re basically admitting you didn’t brake when you rammed them…

How’s that going by the way?

No, I didn’t do that either.

The “traffic nonwithstanding” bit was my get out of jail free card mate!

All gone quiet tbh, I’ve asked for updates but receive shrugs instead. I’m confident that XPO’s huge legal team is all over it, or at least fat Gladys from accounts is at least.

I bet you’re a bit frustrated, as I’d want to know what happens when they see the footage.

I suspect it will go a little like this: Errr, Umm, …

Never tried it, but would be awkward in mine as the steering column kindof gets in the way and gotta get it back to the clutch in emergencies, but not too sure I’d trust myself to brake left footed. Actually tried it in a car once as I heard it’s now rally drivers brake, but control wasn’t too brilliant - braked a bit hard.

What does surprise me is considering a right handed person has less finite motor control on their left, we can still control a clutch pedal with very delicate skill. So in theory it should be possible to do it left footed.

+1
I also attempted it in the truck and got a similar result. Talk about a ring piece twitcher. Like a rabbits nose she was.
(WTF, I refer to me grinner as a she. !!)

I tried using my left hand for the old tried and trusted 2 in the goo, 1 in the ■■■ courtship ritual with very little noticeable difference.

I just hit cruise control, then go for a dander round the cab! :unamused:

Cue our esteemed Romanian brother…

I bet he’d fair well in the I.Q. thread as well…

(It still really ■■■■■■ me off watching this video, not bad for a going on 8 yr old clip)
