Yep, those straps are great at doing their job…
If they’re used of course.
We often load drinks like this on those plastic pallets. I always get looked at by other drivers like I’m walking about naked when they see me putting straps on every pallet.

Same here.
I usually stand up 2 empty pallets on the arse end of loads of pop or wines etc, and feed a ratchet strap through to bind them up, …as well as an internal both sides on every one.
We have the heroes who just cross internals on the back 2 and nothing else, as they… ‘‘Haven’t got a lot of time’’ and need to impress the boss.
Way I see it is if it takes an extra 45 mins to strap up, I’m on hourly pay, so these days I strap every bloody thing, why give the ■■■■ s an excuse to do you.
I bet he’s only just come out of the lemonade factory @ Leeming Bar. Probably the first roundabout.
Those bottles needed strapping. The plastic separators are designed to hold the bottles upright on the fork truck. I have carried tonnes of bottled water from France but it was shrink wrapped to the pallets and didn’t move. Those are very different.

I don’t know if it would help if more cosignors demand strapping in „a state of the art“ way.

Anyway I‘m with you Rob secure the load and don’t spoil the boss with doing more work than possible.
Rushing around often leads to > more work/runs but therefore Drivers are their own enemies [emoji45]
Even when salaried, if everyone would say well 10-11 hours are enough, otherwise the hourly rate drops stupidly low and I‘m not doing that. Maybe the bosses would learn but only if every driver does it.
But I‘m living in a nutshell and this will never happen [emoji45][emoji849]
