Just like to say I’ve signed off and should be out soon I have my cat C gonna pay out and do a C+E course in next few weeks, would just like to know what would be a good option to go for agency or go round depot’s I’m in Derbyshire, ideally I would like to do tramping and religiously save so I can get a house, any advice is much appreciated.
I passed a few months ago, the same time someone else on this form did. I’m on agency, he got a permanent gig. He now wants to leave his gig and would rather work for mine, who want to make me permanent…
So it’s probably impossible to say what is best…
Yes you MIGHT get more support or training going for a permanent role, but agency gives you the option to hunt around and find what fits for you…
If you have half a brain, can drive and communicate, you won’t be out of work on agency in the current climate…
I’m leaving the RAF around April and have the exact same plans as you. I just put an application in to HR to do some part time work with agencies to build up experience during leave and every other weekend. I’m going to try and catch the Christmas rush too as id imagine the agencies will be full of jobs. It will give me something to add on the CV and some extra Christmas money. If your looking for agencies have a look on indeed and see who is offering the most positions in your area. That may give you an idea of who is getting the most contracts.
Just had a link to these guys turn up on my facebook page, (no idea why),
I know nothing about them, so might be worth treading carefully, but it might interest some of you who are leaving the forces in the near future.
