Leaving a job.how much notice

jayeastanglia:
well I have now left…they agreed to let me work monday till 5pm then have the rest of the week as paid holiday
Going to look for new job today…
Oh yeah missus said cut the grass ,clean the house and do the dishes if i am staying home :frowning:

So you´ll be down the pub then

gnasty gnome:
It is often what a reference does not say which can tell you more about someone who’s applying for a job.

Spot on GG,

All the crap about “its illegal to give a bad reference” is just that, the employer is legally obliged to give an honest opinion, OR, as I used to do with the ■■■■■■`s, decline to give a reference, the silence is deafening, enough said

The good lads got a reference that told the truth, as its been said, dont burn your bridges, I normally found that drivers who you gave a good reference, came back, when their new employer didnt deliver the promises. :unamused: :unamused:

jayeastanglia:
I am a bit fed up with my job and want to leave asap…could i just say on monday I want to go now hand everything in and walk away?
I been there for 1 .5 years…I got terms and conditions but i never signed the contract…

Im quite sure if the shoe was on the other foot and you were sacked, told to go immediately U would want yer pound of flesh and ALL you were entitled to including a weeks pay in lieu , So do the right thing, give a weeks notice. If he doesnt want you to work it then its a different kettle of fish.

Employee ↔ Employer Relationship works both ways !!!

jayeastanglia:
oh yeah i tried ringing my boss just now but he is unavalable to talk to me…1 other bit my controller is also my bosses wife/girlfriend unsure of which,so that dont help

Maybe things will improve when he gets a new girlfriend :stuck_out_tongue: If she whinges at you, think how bad it must be for him
