Learning in an Auto in Glasgow

Does anybody know if
Ritchies (Glasgow) or
GTG (Glasgow) have autos
Or anybody else nearby

Don’t know. Give them a call and ask.

Pete

i think Ritchies have, but if they have a mixed fleet get it in writing that you have booked on the automatic just in case they put you on a manual. I don’t think GTC have auto yet but like Pete says give them a ring, us driving schools love it when the phone rings!

After failing my C+E test, I phoned Ritchies (said all artics were now autos) and GTG (said only rigids were autos) this was start of sept, ended up doing retest with scania which had opticruise gearbox, so cant confirm from personal experience.

If I remember rightly, Scania have a driver training arm up here… I’ll need to check where though!

Edit: Yes they do. I did my C/CE with them in April (in Purfleet mind you - way before I moved!) and they were very good. The vehicles aren’t strictly autos as they use 3 pedal OptiCruise for training but the gearbox changes gear for itself. You just use the clutch for moving off and stopping. 5 day artic course cost me £1193.80 but that includes test fee. Breakdown is £899 + 20% VAT + £115 test fee and is the same for a 5 day C course. One hour Assessment drive is £72 but this is deducted from the course when you book it.

Thanks its for class 1 or I should say c+e

Ritchies have auto volvo’s. would recommend them.

Class 1 with Scania you’ll learn in an artic at the maximum length allowed for test purposes
