Ldt self employed or sole trader status on agency?

Hello.
I used to drive LGV a while ago and thinking of returning to the industry for a short time.
Can anyone advise what are the benefits of being ltd driver against a basic sole trader status which I possess in another line of work…
Thank you

Now’s not a good time to join this industry. Walk on, and find something that’ll pay the mortgage with office hours of work instead.

I`m sure the search facility in the top right corner will yield you with more than enough answers to that question

If you are returning to the industry for a ‘short time’ no kind of self employed basis is a good idea, just not worth the hassle, stay PAYE, better for short term solutions

Hello somtam
I made the switch last year from being employed first to agency then sole trader then limited company. If you are looking at being on the agency for over a year the sums and extra admin add up. You wont be Abel to work as a sole trader directly for most agency’s as most do it through umbrella company’s which will in turn charge you around two grand . However done correctly a limited company which is vat registered could scoop you an extra 20 % however tread wisely and take proper advise . As to how much work is out there with the right attitude and right location there’s is plenty I work in the midlands and had a turnover last year of 44k
