LD Lines Portsmouth-Le Havre 'Internet@sea'

Just a warning to anyone thinking of taking out their ‘24 Hours of Internet access’

I bought a card on board about a month ago after being told that the card you buy with the username/password on it was valid for a full 24 hours that was monitored as you used it. i.e when I got on the boat again in future (no time limit was mentioned) it would use another chunk of my initial 24 hour block.

Not so… It starts the clock ticking at the point you log on, and after that it is only any use for scraping your car windows or getting dog mess off your shoes.

At £8.50 for the card I suppose it isn’t totally unrealistic as it is all done via satellite etc… But what really annoyed me was the fact that I had asked specifically whether it was just for a 24 hour period, and I was told otherwise.

Sods law says the bint who was on the information desk forst time isn’t on board anymore, and it is just my word against nobody. Been fobbed off with an address to write to, and had to fork out again for access :imp: (this time in the full knowledge it is worthless after I get off)

Just in case someone tries to sell you something duff… I know how those endowment types feel
