Ld LINES NORMAN ARROW BEWARE

Hi just a note on something that happened to one of our vehicles yesterday.
This ferry in the title is a fast ferry from Dover to Boulogne and back with an advertised crossing time of one hour. All sounds good so far.
However on the lower deck that takes the Freight there are channels in the deck for drainage running down each superstructure. Over these channels intermitantly along the deck are channel covers that are approx two and half feet long (in old money) which are fitted loose by design. Any way on disembarkation the driver turned his front wheel over the channel and deck plate, aiming for the ramp of the ferry when the plate lifted and pierced the deisel tank. This could be something to watch out for in the future so hope I hope our misfortune helps someone else avoid the delays we had yesterday.

I have an issue when docking with Transmanche on Newhaven/Dieppe routes. The landing ramp is too high and has sharp and raised corners, that easily pop all the tyres,at night, when one is not aware when disembarking. How it is not happened is a miracle. It is Dieppe, you have to steer wide of the jagged edges.
