AaronR:
Why would this not be a serious question then?
Have you not been in a situation when you want to get into a layby but someone has parked in the entry so no one else can get in?
Are you so blinkered that you canât work out that maybe the layby was full so the driver stopped in the only space available and sometime during his 45 minute break, the other vehicles left?

âYou are wrong in your assumption of what i was saying, i have seen on my travels many times drivers pull in to a near empty layby and then proceed to block it for a break, or sometimes just to just the laptop sitting on the dash or talk on the phone, therefore rendering the layby useless for everyone elseâ
Read this again you utter moron, or are you so blinkered by your own self importance that you cant take in what ive said?
AaronR:
Grrrr what is it with drivers who pull into a layby right at the entrance, and sit blocking the whole layby, even though theres plenty of space to park?? Ive noticed this a hell of a lot more recently, especially along the A14. Why do it??
AaronR
If we had the European style laybys this would not be a problem.
Deepinvet is a man with sense! AaronR, have you tried thinking about what youâve written before you took the time to write it?
I would have thought it was fairly obvious that the âblockerâ has arrived at the layby and found all the parking spaces taken, and shortly after heâs stopped at the entrance and put his tacho on break, one of the previously parked trucks has driven off⌠How tough is that to work out?
Do you honestly think people deliberately block the entrance to laybys to stop you getting parked up? (Donât answer that!)
Maybe you should have a think before writing, or at least take the time to read what ive written before commenting. And how dare you speak to me like im 5 years old. Let me make it clear to you again, I have seen on many occasions foreign trucks and car/van drivers pull into an empty layby, blocking the entry road in, while on a laptop or phone. This i have seen many times even when ive been sat on a break in the layby, So does this make it clear to you now? or am i still in the wrong?

Hmmm, well have you used your loaf and looked at the above posts to see what i actually put down?? or are you also âblinkeredââ â

This site is getting beyond a joke.
I know what youâre getting at. Saw Farmer Giles in his battered smoky Land Rover and cattle trailer give one indication and pull into a layby near Witney West A40 earlier. Stopped a few yards in with the rear of the trailer barely clearing the white lines. Oops. Sorry. Mustnât criticise anything Farmers do. How evil of me. People took offence once on here because I mentioned dodgy lights and leaving mud on the road.
I know exactly what youâre getting at and I agree. Unfortunately it seems to be the small, selfish minority who donât give a stuff about others. It does appear to be prevalent nowadays, not only in haulage!
I was taught right from the word go that if I stopped in a layby to pull right up to the end if possible and as far over to the left as possible to give all others as much room as I could. Common sense really but that appears to be in ever shorter supply these daysâŚ

This was your original post. And if youâre old enough to read, youâll see that I âquotedâ what you posted you [zb]! Now you expect me to read your mind. Back to school for you young man! Internet boards like this one work on a chronological process; you write something I respond, then you write a reply⌠worked that out yet?

Maybe you should write what you mean in your original post and not expect everyone to magically know what you wanted to write!
What do you mean, ââŚmake it clear AGAIN!â You didnât make it clear the first time! You didnât mention anything about foreign trucks and car/van drivers or about using laptops and/or phones in your OP. And if you had I would have replied differently.
But since you write like a 5 year old, donât be surprised if you get treated like one.
I hate those layby blockers who defecate in them, break up old washing machines, do wood carvings, lay crap tarmac, palm read, interbreed, have different reg plates on the same vehicle, do block paving, cause the entire population of Stow on the Wold to hide every time the horse fairs on, have a first name for a surname (John Lee), leave dead whippets in beauty spots, hare coursing, rip off elderly peopleâŚ
